FERDINAND — The Tri-County YMCA will be hosting a youth basketball program called the Future Hoopers League.
The league will be a co-ed instructional six-week youth basketball program emphasizing the fundamentals of shooting, dribbling, passing, defense and rebounding while building character through the YMCA’s five core values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility and faith.
The program is open to all current first and second graders as the camp will run from Wednesday, December 5 until Saturday, January 19 skipping the week of Christmas (December 24-29).
Practices will take place on Wednesday evenings with games being played on Saturday mornings. The cost is $50 for YMCA members and $75 for non-YMCA members.
Sign-ups are available until Wednesday, November 28. There will be a coaches meeting on November 28 at 6 p.m.
Registrations can be completed online at www.tricountyymca.org and can also be mailed or brought to the YMCA. For more information, contact Abe Schwartz at 812-367-2323.
