Free Fishing Day this weekendApril 15, 2019
From Local Sources
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources is reminding the public that Hoosier adults can fish for free on Saturday.
It is the first of four Indiana Free Fishing Days this year.
On Free Fishing Days, according to the DNR, Indiana residents who are age 18 and older can fish public waters without needing a fishing license or a trout stamp. Children 17 and younger do not need a license on any day.
Some state parks are hosting Free Fishing Day events. Lincoln State Park says the public can come to the Nature Center and borrow a pole and some bait between 8 and 10 a.m. CDT.
You can find a list of state park activities here.
Specific information about all Free Fishing Day events can be found at dnr.IN.gov/fishfree.
Additional Free Fishing Days in 2019 are May 18 and June 1 and 2.
