Franke joins Jasper conservation office

JASPER — The Dubois County Soil and Water Conservation District has hired Arthur Franke as its new detailed district conservationist. 


Franke is a LaGrange County native and grew up on his family’s seven-acre apple orchard. He graduated from Purdue University where he studied agronomy, crop and soil science, natural resources, forestry, and environmental studies.   

Franke’s previous experience started in 2013 working for Pioneer detassling corn. In 2014, he worked at Leonard Ag irrigating potatoes and planting tomatoes, and in 2015, he worked in the Upper Peninsula in Gladstone, Michigan. He started working for the Natural Resrouces Conservation Service in Fort Wayne in 2016. 

As a detailed district conservationist, Franke will be stationed at the Jasper NRCS office through September. He can be contacted at 812-482-1171, extension 3.
