Foster earns Eagle Scout

Boy Scouting’s highest rank, Eagle Scout, was presented to Reid Foster at an Eagle Scout Court of Honor on Nov. 24 at Holy Family Catholic Church, Jasper. He is the son of Myron Foster and Janelle Foster.

Boy Scout Troop 185 Scoutmaster Fred Feltner welcomed everyone. Eric Hedinger served as master of ceremonies. The colors were presented by Ethan Fritch and Josh Schoenbachler. Fritch and Schoenbachler escorted Foster. The opening prayer was read by Reece Fromme. Readers were Keaton Prechtel, Ethan Fritch and Nick Buechlein. Eagle Board of Review members included John Buechlein, Dennis Prechtel and Brad Willoughby. Feltner delivered the Eagle Charge.

Foster started his scouting career with Cub Scout Pack 130 at St. Mary Catholic Church. He earned his Light of Christ and Parvuli Dei religious awards. He crossed over to Holy Family Boy Scout Troop 185 and was in Bobcat patrol. He served as patrol and assistant patrol leader. He completed 32 merit badges and received the Ad Altare Dei religious award.

For his Eagle project, he landscaped the south side of Holy Trinity Catholic School near the narthex entrance of the church.

Foster is a junior at Jasper High School and is a member of the marching, concert, pep and jazz bands. He is a member of Precious Blood Parish.
