Forest Park Band Boosters

The Forest Park Band Boosters held their monthly meeting on Friday, July 30, 2021. President Brandon Berg welcomed boosters. A motion was made to approve the minutes of their last meeting by Bret Eckert and seconded by Duane Lorey. Michelle Kieper gave the treasurer's report.

Donna Weyer reported the responsibilities of the can and paper drive committee and the need for new members. The next can and paper drive will be Aug. 14 at 9 a.m.

Erin Sprinkle reported that the raffle tickets are ready to be picked up and all tickets and money need to be turned in by Sept. 4.

Duane Lorey reported that the 4-H food book was very successful and thanked everyone who helped.

Michelle Kieper and Duane Lorey reported that football concessions will be starting on Aug. 20 and the work schedule will be out soon. If you are unable to work, you are responsible to find a replacement.

Bret Eckert reported that there have been lots of products donated to the flea market which will be held on Aug. 6 and 7. Help is needed to load the product on Monday and Tuesday at 5 at the warehouse in St. Marks. The band students are required to help unload/set up on Wednesday, Aug. 4, at 8 at the 4-H ground. Thursday, Aug. 5, will be used for cleaning and pricing. Students and parents are asked to show up to help. A sign up genius email went out for students and parents to work the flea market.

Brandon Berg reported that a new chairperson for the Christkindlmarkt is needed and if two people would like to co-chair that would be great.

Brandon Berg reported that the Night with the Marching Rangers is held in November after the marching season has ended. It is used to introduce the younger students to the band program.

Rachel Berg reported that the flag committee will be meeting to work on the flags and plumes; you don’t have to know how to sew to be on the committee.

Carol Lichtey reported on what the meals committee does and that she has a sign up sheet for parents to make snacks for students for band competitions.

Carol Lichtey reported that bus moms/dads are needed to ride the bus with the students to the competitions.

Janelle Oser reported that students will be receiving discount cards to sell and the money they earn will be put in their account to help pay for the band trip.

Matt Tretter reported that the props committee started this week and if anyone would like to join the pit crew.

Heather Tretter reported that they need a few more people on the uniform committee and committee members are asked to take some uniforms home to wash a couple times during marching season.

Brandon Berg introduced the representative for the mattress sale company to talk to the group. The mattress sale is set for Aug. 21 in the school cafeteria and the delivery will be in three to four weeks.

Erica Eckert made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Terry Schepers second the motion.

The next meeting will be Tuesday, Sept. 7, at 7 with the location TBD based on availability.
