Forest Park Band Boosters

The Forest Park Band Boosters held their monthly meeting on Monday, June 7, 2021. President Bret Eckert welcomed boosters. A motion was made to approve the minutes of the last meeting by Erica Eckert and seconded by John Brosmer. Carol Lichtey gave the treasurer's report.

Donna Weyer reported the can and paper drive will be Saturday, June 12, at 9 a.m. and new committee members are needed.

Bret Eckert reported the dates of the 4-H Fair are July 12-17.

Bret Eckert reported that the Flea Market is set for Aug. 6 and 7. We have received two loads of cabinets and mirrors, as well as some product vendors and a food vendor who expressed interest in coming.

Carol Lichtey reported there are no new updates for the band camp meals committee.

Bret Eckert reported that the mattress sale is set for Aug. 21.

Bret Eckert made a motion to accept Tara Hopf as Vice President and Michelle Kieper as Treasurer. Donna Weyer seconded the motion.

Bret Eckert thanked John Brosmer for his work updating the trailer and box truck.

Bret Eckert went over the budget for the next year. Matt Tretter made a motion to accept the budget and Erica Eckert seconded the motion.

Mr. Obermeyer reported that area small schools are struggling with their band program, however, he feels that Forest Park is in a good spot this year. An announcement was made of the dress-up days for band camp: Monday- Meme Day; Tuesday- America; Wednesday- Pink/tank top; Thursday- Beach; Friday- Match Section. Mr. Obermeyer announced that the band will not have a contest in Evansville until Regional. Mandatory Flea Market setup for the students will be Aug. 4 at 8 a.m.

Michelle Kieper made a motion to adjourn the meeting and Erica Eckert seconded the motion.

The next meeting will be Monday, July 5, 2021.
