Forest Park Band BoostersMarch 8, 2021
The Forest Park Band Boosters held their monthly meeting on Monday, March 1, 2021. President Bret Eckert welcomed boosters. A motion was made to approve the minutes from the last meeting by Duane Lorey and seconded by Tara Hopf. Carol Lichtey gave the treasurer's report.
Bret Eckert reported that the basketball concessions have ended and due to the COVID-19 restrictions, profits were less than years before.
Bret Eckert reported that the discount cards fundraiser ended up making around the same amount they did last year.
Karen Brown reported that the March raffle winners have been drawn. They are: $300, Ruth Lasher; $100, Nancy Foll-Welp, Jason Martin, Lenny & Diann Verkamp, Elaine Schipp, Brian Auffart.
Bret Ecket reported that the Band Banquet has a tentative date for April 25, but the place where the banquet will take place has not been determined.
Donna Weyer reported the next can and paper drive will be March 13 at 9 a.m. They still have papers from February and help would be appreciated at 8:30 so they can get everything loaded.
Bret Eckert reported that the tentative Flea Market dates are Aug. 6 and 7. The 4-H Fair is July 12-17.
Post Prom asked for band parents to help with security on April 24 from 11 p.m. to 2:30 a.m. If you are interested in helping, contact Carol Lichtey.
Mr. Obermeyer reported that the band trip is on hold depending on what the school will allow for travel next year.
Bret Eckert asked for new officer nominations for the vice president and treasurer positions. If anyone is interested or has suggestions, let Bret or Brandon know. Carol said she would help train the new treasurer.
Bret Eckert reported that the trailer has been fixed and painted. Hopefully to update the decals soon and nothing has been done with the nose cone.
Karen Brown announced that she is looking for someone to take over the Christkindlmarkt committee.
Mr. Obermeyer handed out a marching band calendar for May, June, July and August. The events listed for the week of August 8-14 are to be determined as the dates get closer. He also reported that we have received invitational information from various schools, so there will be some type of marching band season this year. The pep band had lots of fun playing the games and he received many positive comments from the community. Currently, Mr. Obermeyer is looking for a color guard choreographer.
Karen Brown made a motion to adjourn the meeting. Bret Ecket seconded the motion.
