JASPER — Police placed a woman under arrest after a minor crash Thursday afternoon in the parking lot of a Jasper restaurant and bar.


The Jasper Police Department was called to the Heichelbech’s parking lot at 222 E. 12th St. at 5:19 p.m.

Police alleged Stephanie K. Taylor, 48, of 1311 Kundeck St., was driving a 2008 Chevrolet Impala that struck a parked, unoccupied 1996 Plymouth Voyager minivan owned by 70-year-old Daniel Reckelhoff of Huntingburg.

During the ensuing investigation, police alleged Taylor’s blood alcohol content tested .208 percent.

Authorities booked Taylor into the Dubois County Security Center at 8:22 p.m. on a preliminary Level 6 felony count of drunken driving and a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated with a BAC over .15 percent.

The impaired driving felony was upgraded because of a prior conviction for the offense within the last five years.


JASPER — Total damage reached $10,000 in an SUV-versus-passenger car collision late Monday afternoon at 14th and Newton streets.

Andrea C. Rodriguez, 27, Jasper, was exiting the parking lot at Miranda’s Mexican Restaurant in a 2001 Nissan Pathfinder at the time of the 5:27 p.m. mishap, according to the Jasper Police Department.

Police said Rodriguez was intending to go southbound on Newton Street at the same time Alejandro N. Hernandez, 51, Jasper was northbound in Newton’s Street’s center lane intending to turn west onto 14th Street in a 1999 Toyota Corolla.

An officer said Rodriguez failed to yield the right of way and her SUV collided with the Hernandez Corolla at a right angle.

Damage was estimated at $5,000 to each of the vehicles.

Police cited Rodriguez for driving while having never been licensed.




JASPER — An early morning noise complaint today resulted in the arrest of two brothers who were accused of marijuana possession.

The Jasper Police Department was called to the 923 Mill St. residence of 23-year-old Joshua J. Hundley and 26-year-old Jacob D. Hundley at 12:08 a.m.

When officers made contact with the Hundleys, they allegedly observed a bag of marijuana in plain site. Police reported that one of the Hundleys then provided four burnt marijuana cigarettes.

Authorities booked both men into the Dubois County Security Center on preliminary misdemeanor counts of marijuana possession.


JASPER — Terry D. Shannon, 34, 415 E. 14th St., was arrested at 8:58 a.m. Thursday and accused of driving while having never been licensed.

Shannon was arrested after an officer made contact with him in the 600 block of West Sixth Street. During a traffic stop in late March, police had allegedly determined Shannon had never been licensed.

On Thursday, authorities booked Shannon into the Dubois County Security Center at 9:13 a.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of driving while having never been licensed.



ST. ANTHONY — A Level 6 felony count of battery filed earlier this month against a St. Anthony-area man has been dismissed.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Department had arrested Clint A. Seger, 37, 4036 E. 450S, on May 9 after being called to the report of a verbal argument that allegedly became physical.

On Wednesday, the state filed a motion to dismiss the case and, on Thursday, the Dubois Circuit Court granted the motion.
