Fish release planned at Patoka LakeMay 27, 2020
From Local Sources
PATOKA LAKE — The Indiana Bass Federation will release about 1,800 largemouth bass — ranging in size from 8 to 10 inches — into Patoka Lake on Friday.
The Indiana Department of Natural Resources has been crucial in the habitat planning and coordination of the fish release.
Patoka Lake is the second-largest reservoir in Indiana and is spread across Dubois, Crawford, and Orange counties.
This stocking is part of the Indiana Reservoir Habitat Enhancement Program developed by the Indiana DNR. The goal is to stock bass in Patoka Lake in 2020 to be studied by the Indiana DNR over the next five years.
The public is invited to attend the fish release at noon Friday at Patoka Lake at the Lick Fork boat ramp.
