Fifth Street Elementary kindergartner Zella Haywood hugs her teacher, Kristy Dilger, as Zella enters her classroom on the first day of school in Jasper on Wednesday. Zella was most excited for lunch and recess. "You all are a lucky group," Principal Ryan Erny announced during the morning assembly. "This is the last group of students that will attend Fifth Street Elementary." Erny explained to the students that they will begin at the newly constructed elementary school next school year.
