Fires totals Massey Ferguson tractorMay 13, 2020
From Local Sources
DUBOIS — Units of the Dubois Volunteer Fire Department responded Monday afternoon when a tractor on the county’s north edge caught fire.
Brad Danhafer was using a Massey Ferguson 596 tractor to haul a grain cart on County Road 400E north of County Road 725N when the 2:13 p.m. fire was reported, according to department spokesman Zach Eichmiller.
Eichmiller said Danhafer successfully unhooked the grain cart after smoke began coming from the tractor’s dash.
Four fire extinguishers were used for an initial knockdown of the fire but the tractor was probably a total loss, according to Eichmiller.
Three trucks and 15 firefighters were on the scene 50 minutes.
