Firemen’s Fest, Show & Shine comingAugust 8, 2019
ST. ANTHONY — The St. Anthony Firemen’s Fest is planned for Saturday, Aug. 17, at the St. Anthony Community Center. The St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Department is sponsoring the event.
Hamburgers and soft drinks will be served beginning at 9 a.m. Starting at 4 p.m., fried chicken dinners will be served inside an air-conditioned center; carry-out meals are available.
Backyard barbecue will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There will be a kiddie tractor pull and kickball, beer garden and raffle.
Dinner and entertainment will take place under the stars. Live music will be featured by High Road from 6 to 8 p.m., Studebaker from 8 to 10:30 p.m. and Boogie Tunes until the end of the fest.

In conjunction with the fest, the 23rd annual show and shine car, truck and motorcycle show will be held at the community center. It will be held rain or shine. Registration is from 9 a.m. to noon with awards being presented by 3 p.m.
On the day of the show, cost is $15 for cars and trucks and $10 for motorcycles. There is free admission to the public. Awards include dash plaques to the first 100 show entries, now Top 10 of 2008 (newer), Top 60 of 1900-2007; Top 15 motorcycles (all years, makes and models), special interest, club participation, fire chief’s award and best of show. All judges’ decisions are final.
DJ music will be provided throughout the day. Beginning at 11 a.m., fried chicken dinners will be provided at 11 a.m. and will continue all day.
Preregistration for the cornhole contest may be made by calling 812-634-9232. Registration begins at 11 a.m. on the contest day.
