Firefighters respond to plant alarm

JASPER — Units of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department responded to an alarm activation Thursday evening at Jasper Rubber Products’ 1055 First Ave. location.
There was no fire associated with the 7:50 p.m. callout, according to Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang. The plant did not have an evening shift and firefighters were unable to identify a reason for the alarm, he added.
Three trucks and 28 firefighters were on the scene 20 minutes.
