Firefighters respond to day-care center alarm

From Local Sources

HOLLAND — Units of the Holland Volunteer Fire Department responded to a pull-alarm activation Wednesday morning at HUMmingbird Day Care, 405 E. Main St.

There was no fire associated with the 9:12 a.m. callout, according to Fire Chief Adam Chambers. Instead, he said, it was a false alarm that gave the department an opportunity to talk with children about the importance of not pulling an alarm if there is not an emergency.

Two trucks and eight firefighters responded for 10 minutes.
