Firefighters respond to church alarm

From Local Sources

JASPER — Units of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department responded Wednesday to an alarm activation at a church on the city’s west side.

The 9:39 a.m. callout sent firefighters to Shiloh United Methodist Church, 1971 W. State Road 56.

There was no fire, according to Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang. Instead, he added, the alarm company had not been advised about a planned fire drill.

Three trucks and 23 firefighters were on the scene 10 minutes.
