From Local Sources

HUNTINGBURG — Units of the Huntingburg Volunteer Fire Department responded to an alarm activation Thursday afternoon at Huntingburg VFW Post 2366, 314 N. Geiger St.

There was no fire associated with the 2:40 p.m. alarm, according to Assistant Chief Glen Kissling. Instead, he said, firefighters traced the alarm to a glitch in a basement heat sensor.

One truck and six firefighters were on the scene 10 minutes.
