Firefighters called to processing shop
June 9, 2020From Local Sources
CELESTINE — Units of the Celestine Volunteer Fire Department responded Friday night to the report of a possible structure fire at Sander Processing, 6614 E. State Road 164.
A caller observed a large amount of smoke coming from a vent and called authorities at 10:40 p.m., according to Fire Chief Ryan Wineinger. There was no fire, he added.
Wineinger said the vent serves as the exhaust for the shop’s smoker that had just been started.
Three trucks responded to the scene for about 10 minutes.
