June 24, 2020From Local Sources
JASPER — Units of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department were called to a pull alarm activation this morning at the Kimball International panel plant at 1450 Cherry St.
Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang said employees pulled the alarm at 6:05 a.m. when a belt got stuck on an oven unit and glue on the belt began to ignite. Employees used two extinguishers to put out the fire, Hochgesang said.
The only damage was to the belt.
Four trucks and 26 firefighters were on the scene 20 minutes.
