Firefighters called to Ferdinand plant

From Local Sources

FERDINAND — Units of the Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Department responded to an alarm activation Tuesday afternoon at MasterBrand Cabinets, 624 W. Third St.

There was no fire associated with the 3:52 p.m. callout, according to Fire Chief John Hoppenjans. Instead, he added, facility management advised there had been a system glitch.

Four trucks and 12 firefighters were on the scene just 5 minutes.

The Ferdinand Police Department assisted.
