Firefighters called to Ferdinand hotel alarm

From Local Sources

FERDINAND — Units of the Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Department responded to a hotel’s pull-alarm activation Friday.

The 11:49 a.m. callout sent the department to the Red Roof Inn, 440 S. Main St.

Fire Chief John Hoppenjans said there was no fire. Instead, he added, the alarm was traced to an accidental pull on the first floor.

The department successfully reset the system.

Two trucks and five firefighters were on the scene 5 minutes.

The Ferdinand Police Department assisted.
