Firefighters called to Ferdinand hotel alarm

From Local Sources

FERDINAND — Units of the Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Department responded Thursday morning to a fire alarm at the Comfort Inn, 123 Scenic Hills Court.

There was no fire associated with the 8:52 a.m. callout, according to Fire Chief John Hoppenjans. Instead, he said, firefighters located a detector activating in a room, removed it and cleaned the device. The hotel system was then successfully reset.

Four trucks and eight firefighters were on the scene 15 minutes.
