From Local Sources
FERDINAND — Units of the Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Department were called to an alarm activation Monday at the Comfort Inn, 123 Scenic Hills Court.
There was no fire associated with the 11:19 a.m. callout, according to Fire Chief John Hoppenjans. Instead, he added, the issue was traced to steam from a shower in a third-floor room tripping a detector.
Firefighters cleaned the detector and successfully reset the system.
Four trucks and eight firefighters were on the scene 20 minutes.
The Ferdinand Police Department assisted.
