Firefighters called to area of heavy smoke

JASPER β€” Units of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department responded Monday night to the report of heavy smoke in the area of 30th and Mill streets.

Firefighters answering the 8:51 p.m. call were told a truck had come through the area blowing heavy smoke.

β€œIt was really bad,” said Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang.

No fire was found.

Four trucks and 17 firefighters were on the scene 15 minutes.
