Firefighters answer plant’s pull alarm

From Local Sources

JASPER — Units of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department responded early today to an alarm activation at a city manufacturing facility.

The 4 a.m. callout sent firefighters to Kimball’s Plant No. 2 at 1620 Cherry St.

There was no fire, according to Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang. Instead, he added, a maintenance worker accidentally activated a pull-station alarm.

Three trucks and 21 firefighters were on the scene 10 minutes.
