From Local Sources

JASPER — Units of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department answered an early morning alarm activation Wednesday at Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center, 800 W. Ninth St.

There was no fire associated with the 2:31 a.m. callout, according to Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang. Instead, he added, firefighters found a faulty detector in the hospital cafeteria.
