JASPER — The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Pike County motorist Monday after a deputy observed him throw a small bottle of whiskey from his vehicle on Jasper’s west side.
The deputy was at Kluemper Road and State Road 56 when he reported that a small bottle of Fireball whiskey was tossed from a passing Ford F-150 pickup truck at 11:45 a.m.
A traffic stop along State Road 56 east of County Road 350W identified the driver as Kenneth W. Myers, 63, 1083 N. Pike County Road 950E, Otwell.
Police said Myers failed field sobriety testing and had a blood alcohol content that tested .15% on a portable breath test; however, Myers was unable to provide two samples for a certified breath test at the Jasper Police Station.
Authorities booked Myers into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:54 p.m. on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated (test refusal).
