Fire destroys PT Cruiser at Holland

From Local Sources

HOLLAND — Units of the Holland Volunteer Fire Department responded Sunday night to the report of a vehicle fire at State Road 161 and Holland Road East.

Fire Chief Adam Chambers said a 2003 PT Cruiser driven by Florence Hunter of Holland was engulfed when units responding to the 9:18 p.m. callout arrived on scene.

The car had experienced overheating issues and the fire had started in the engine compartment, Chambers said.

There were no injuries but the vehicle was considered a total loss.

Two trucks and 15 firefighters were on the scene for an hour.

The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office and a KARS wrecker assisted.
