From Local Sources
JASPER — Units of the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department made two brief weekend runs, but neither involved an active fire.
The first call, at 11:45 a.m. Friday, was to Legacy Living of Jasper, 1850 W. State Road 56.
Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang said firefighters discovered cleaning staff accidentally triggered a pull-station alarm.
Two trucks were briefly at the scene.
Then, at 2:57 a.m. Sunday, the department was called to Fairfield Inn and Suites, 333 River Centre Landing.
Hochgesang said nothing was found and it was a false alarm of unknown origin.
Three trucks and 21 firefighters were on the scene 15 minutes.
