Fighting for Hoosier students
November 7, 2019To the editor:
On November 19, I will be joining thousands of educators and supporters from across Indiana to stand up for Public Education at the Statehouse. This occurs on Organization Day, a time when legislators return to Indianapolis to plan the 2020 session.
After a decade of disrespect, defunding, and demoralization, the Indiana Legislature has forced educators to spend time away from the classroom. Educators recognize the need for adequate support, reduced testing, and the repeal of ridiculous and overbearing requirements; we simply ask our legislators to recognize the same.
We are standing up for our students, our schools, our colleagues, and our communities. I ask that you join with us to support the future of Indiana and the nation.
