Ferdinand’s severe weather warning siren goes down

From local sources

FERDINAND — Ferdinand’s northern storm siren is currently not working due to an unknown technical issue.

Dubois County Emergency Management is aware of the situation and the town is working with the agency to resolve the matter.

Until the siren is repaired, residents are advised to pay extra close attention to their weather radios as well as local media weather sources in the event of severe weather outbreaks.

Today, the National Weather Service reported that thunderstorms are expected this evening in portions of south central Indiana — including Dubois County — as a cold front moves through the Ohio Valley. Some strong storms may produce locally gusty winds, small hail and heavy rain.
