Ferdinand's north-side siren down

From Local Sources

FERDINAND — Officials discovered that the north side severe weather siren in Ferdinand is currently not in service following the countywide test of Dubois County emergency sirens on Monday.

Federal Field Services have been notified and will inspect and repairing the siren. In the meantime, all Ferdinand residents are encouraged to be aware of the issue and to ensure that their personal notification systems, such as SAME or NOAA weather radios, are ready with fresh batteries.

All county citizens are reminded that the sirens are put in place as a back up to notify residents of threatening weather that is approaching and are not to replace your own notification process.

If you have any questions please feel free to contact the Dubois County EMA office at 812-482-2202.
