FERDINAND — A Ferdinand teen was transported for treatment after a single-vehicle accident late Wednesday afternoon.
The Ferdinand Police Department was called at 5:27 p.m. to an accident with injuries at Industrial Park Road and West Third Street.
Police say the crash involved a 2008 Dodge Caliber that had been southbound and was driven by Alex S. Crecelius, 17, Ferdinand. Crecelius was trapped in the vehicle when police arrived and passersby had stopped to offer assistance.
First responders with the Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Department and Memorial Hospital Emergency Medical Services arrived and got Crecelius out of the vehicle, according to police.
Police say Crecelius, who complained of right arm and right leg pain, was transported by ambulance to Memorial Hospital and Health Care Center. A hospital spokeswoman said he was treated and released.
The crash totaled the Crecelius Dodge.
The Dubois County Sheriff’s Office, a Department of Natural Resources conservation officer and a Berg’s Garage wrecker also assisted.
