From Local Sources
FERDINAND — Both vehicles were able to be driven from the scene of a Monday afternoon collision at Sixth and Main streets.
Douglas Lindauer, 35, Ferdinand, was parking his 2000 Dodge Dakota along the curb on West Sixth Street at the time of the 3 p.m. mishap, according to the Ferdinand Police Department.
Police said Lindauer saw a safer parking space and started pulling back into traffic as a 2011 Chevrolet Silverado driven by Brandon Schaefer, 31, Ferdinand, was driving onto West Sixth Street from Main Street.
The same-direction sideswipe collision that occurred resulted in $3,000 in damage to the Schaefer Chevrolet and $1,000 damage to the Lindauer Dodge.
Both drivers were wearing seat belts and no citations were issued, police reported.
