Ferdinand man jailed on OWI accusation

FERDINAND — Police placed a Ferdinand man under arrest after an encounter late Saturday night.

Officers with the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office and Ferdinand Police Department responded at 11:44 p.m. Saturday to the report of a domestic problem at 1850 E. Holiday Lake Road.

Arriving officers saw Joseph L. Mundy, 57, of the Holiday Lake Road address, turning around on a rock lane in a 2009 Honda CR-V. When stopped, Mundy exhibited signs of impairment but refused blood alcohol testing, according to police.

Authorities booked Mundy into the Dubois County Security Center at 12:39 a.m. Sunday on a preliminary misdemeanor count of operating while intoxicated (test refusal). Mundy posted bond Sunday evening.
