Ferdinand lake closed for dam work

FERDINAND — New Town Lake off East Fifth Street in Ferdinand has been closed for the planned state-mandated work to upgrade the dam and widen the spillway.
Henry Haake, utilities superintendent for the town, said the lake was closed today and the property is off limits to everyone except people working on the project and town officials. Haake said he is unsure how long the work might take, but the lake will remain closed until further notice.
