FERDINAND — The 2020 Ferdinand Folk Festival has been canceled.
The Folk Festival committee announced the cancellation in a press release this morning, citing continued uncertainty about the COVID-19 pandemic as the reason for the cancellation.
In the press release, Folk Festival Chairperson Chris James said the committee "could not determine a satisfactory way of holding an outdoor festival" with social distancing controls and the large evening crowds the Folk Festival draws.
The festival will return in 2021 and is scheduled to take place Saturday, Sept. 18, 2021, at 18th Street Park in Ferdinand.
