Ferdinand firefighters called to high school

From Local Sources

FERDINAND — Units of the Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Department were called to an alarm activation this morning at Forest Park Junior-Senior High School.

There was no fire or smoke associated with the 7:49 a.m. callout to the school at 1440 Michigan St., according to Fire Chief John Hoppenjans.

Firefighters responded to discover school maintenance staff had already determined a faulty duct detector in the cafeteria had activated.

Four firefighters and one truck were on the scene for 5 minutes.
