FERDINAND — Units of the Ferdinand Volunteer Fire Department were called Sunday afternoon to Casey’s General Store, 2245 Main St.
There was no fire associated with the 3:51 p.m. callout, according to Fire Chief John Hoppenjans. Instead, he added, firefighters determined that employees smelled an electrical burning smell because an air conditioner compressor locked up.
Three trucks and 12 firefighters were on the scene 30 minutes.
