Fender-bender involves car, SUVOctober 31, 2019
From Local Sources
FERDINAND — The damage was limited in an SUV-versus-car fender-bender Saturday morning in the Forest Park Junior-Senior High School parking lot.
A 2018 Volkswagen Jetta owned by Jeffrey J. Lettel, 47, St. Paul, was parked in a legal parking space with Lettel attempting to exit the vehicle at the time of the 10 a.m. mishap, according to the Ferdinand Police Department.
Police said a 2015 Toyota Sequoia driven by Seth S. Clutter, 43, Lynnville, was attempting to pull into the next open parking space and the doors of the vehicles made contact.
Heavy rainfall at the time was listed as a primary contributing factor in the mishap with a combination of a reduction of sight and sound preventing both drivers from seeing or hearing the other vehicle.
Damage was estimated at $500 to each vehicle.
