Faulty alarm draws fire department

From Local Sources

JASPER — An alarm activation at a Jasper manufacturing facility drew a fire department response Monday morning.

The 8:54 a.m. call sent the Jasper Volunteer Fire Department to the Kimball Hospitality plant at 1180 E. 16th St.

There was no fire, according to Fire Chief Kenny Hochgesang. Instead, he said, the run was chalked up to a faulty water flow switch in the sprinkler system.

Three trucks and 19 firefighters were on the scene 20 minutes.
