HUNTINGBURG — Fatigue was a factor in a Tuesday afternoon accident along a county road east of Huntingburg.
Mary J. Begle, 74, Ferdinand, was westbound on Ferdinand Road Northwest in a 2015 GMC Terrain when the 3:30 p.m. accident occurred 150 feet east of County Road 100W, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Begle told a deputy she nodded off behind the wheel. The sheriff’s office said her SUV traveled partially off the north side of the road into a small ditch, ran over rip-rap stone and re-entered the roadway before stopping.
Total damage was estimated between $5,000 and $10,000.
A Bob Luegers Motors wrecker assisted.
