BIRDSEYE — Fatigue was cited as a factor in a Friday morning accident south of Birdseye.
Melyna J. Dixon of Jasper was northbound on State Road 145 in a 2011 Ford Edge when the 5 a.m. accident occurred south of Borden Hill Road, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department.
Dixon indicated she nodded off behind the wheel, according to the sheriff’s department. Her SUV went left of center and off the roadway where it stopped after striking some small trees.
There were no injuries but damage to the front and side of the car was estimated at $7,500.
A deputy cited Dixon for driving on a suspended license.
A Berg’s Garage wrecker towed the SUV because of disabling damage.
