Fatal crash under investigation in Crawford CountyMay 24, 2021

A fatal crash remains under investigation in Crawford County.
Around 4:13 p.m. Saturday, the Crawford County Sheriff’s Department was dispatched to an injury accident at the intersection of State Road 164 and Dillard Road. Deputy Justin Ash and Chief Deputy William Breeding were called to the scene of the accident involving a motor vehicle and a motorcycle.
The vehicle, a white Chevy Cavalier, was traveling eastbound on State Road 164 prior to turning north onto Dillard Road. The motorcycle driver and a passenger were traveling westbound on State Road 164. The driver of the Chevy reportedly did not see the motorcycle approaching prior to making the turn.
Both vehicles sustained heavy damage. Witnesses reported the driver of the white Chevy Cavalier turned into the traffic lane directly in front of the motorcycle.
Two juveniles were in the Chevy at the time of the accident, one suffering minor injuries. The driver and passenger of the motorcycle were ejected and suffered life-threatening injuries. The motorcycle driver was unable to be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene. The passenger of the motorcycle sustained serious injuries and was flown by helicopter to University of Louisville Hospital after being treated at the scene by EMS.
Other departments assisting were Indiana State Police Trooper Tyler Trueblood, English Police Department Officer Kyle Wiseman, the English Fire Department, Crawford County EMS, and IU Health Paoli EMS.
The identity of the deceased is being withheld pending confirmation of family notification.
The crash remains under investigation.
