Reunions have been planned in the local area.
Archer — Desendents and friends of Sylvester Archer are invited to attend the reunion on Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Crystal Community Club. A pitch-in lunch will be at severed at 1 p.m.. Elkins — Family and friends of Ed and Eva Elkins are invited to the annual Elkins reunion on Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Crystal Community Club. A pitch-in lunch will be served at 1 p.m. Bring music instruments for jam. Contact Diane Wininger at 812-678-4281 for additional information.
Fuhrman — The 85th reunion of the descendants of the Simon and Elizabeth (Mauder) Fuhrman family will be held Sept. 1 at the Jasper Outdoor Recreation Center. A 12:30 p.m. meal is planned. Meats and drinks will be furnished. For more information, call 812-678-4629 or 812-639-9350.
Gramelspacher — The descendants of Hilary Gramelspacher will hold a family reunion at noon Sunday, Sept. 1, at the The Depot, Seventh St., Tell City. A potluck meal will be served; bring tableware, drinks and two covered dishes. For more information, contact 812-649-9373.
Hedinger — The Hedinger family of southern Indiana will be gathering at 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 31, at the St. Anthony American Legion for a reunion. Lunch will be served at noon and the main course will be provided. Bring a side dish or dessert to share. Drinks will be donated by Keith Hedinger of Hedinger Beverage Distributing. Bring an auction item to donate to help pay for reunion expenses. Examples of auction items include a handmade item, homemade baked goods, homemade wine, or an art or craft item. Kurt Hedinger will be the auctioneer. The southern Indiana Hedinger family was established in the United States by Christoph and Mary Lohmeyer Hedinger. Christoph immigrated to Cincinnati, Ohio, prior to the Civil War. After his untimely death, his wife remarried and eventually moved the family to Ferdinand. The Hedinger reunion is hosted by Kathy Hedinger Atkins who encourages family members to bring photos, stories and genealogy information to share. Hoffman — The descendents of George and Mary (Sendleweck) Hoffman will gather Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Edgar and Dee farm, 3537 W. 700N, Hoffman Party Barn, Portersville. The gathering includes the Nora and George Wening family, Clara and Roy Meyer family, Hilda and Ralph Mann family, Edgar and Dee Hoffman family, Elsie and Dennis Kieffner family and Albert and Nelda Hoffman family. The meal will be server at 5 p.m. Table service, drinks and meats will be provided. Each family is asked to bring a covered dish. Jerger — The descendants of the Joseph and Lena (Dupps) Jerger family will hold their annual family reunion on Sunday, Oct. 6, at the Jasper Group event room. Each family is asked to bring a favorite soup, sandwiches or a dessert and their own drinks. Table service will be provided. The doors will open at 11 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Kalb — The Henry and Margaret Kalb family reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 1, at the Haysville Community Park in Haysville. Fun and games begin at noon ET and fried chicken will be served at 12:30 p.m. ET. Relatives are asked to bring a covered dish, salad or dessert, as well as their own drinks and tableware. Mehringer — The descendants of John S. and Christina (Schuetter) Mehringer will gather for a family reunion hosted by the Claude and Dorothy Rees family at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Jasper Outdoor Recreation Center. As in the past, chicken will be catered along with table service. Each family is asked to bring a covered dish and their own drinks. Schnarr — The Christian and Margret (Voelkel) Schnarr reunion will be held at noon Sunday, Aug. 25, at the Ireland Sportsman’s Club. Each family is asked to bring a covered dish, utensils and drinks. Seger/Lampert — The Clem and Anna Seger (children of Simon, Martina, George, Paul and Elizabeth) and Ben and Helen Lampert (children of Walter, Herb, Bill and Leona Fleck) family reunion will be held Saturday, Sept. 14 at the Jasper Outdoor Recreation at 4 p.m. Supper will be served at 5:30 p.m. Children of the Simon, Martina, George, Paul, Walter, Herb, Bill and Leona Fleck families should bring a meat and their drinks. Striegel — The Striegel family reunion will be held Sunday, Sept. 1, at Tony and Lisa Striegel’s house, 2258 S. 800E, Schnellville. A Mass for the deceased and living members of the family will take place at 7:30 a.m. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Schnellville, coffee and doughnuts will be served at 9 a.m. at Tony and Lisa’s house and lunch will be served at 11:30 a.m. Hamburgers, hotdogs, buns, condiments, plates napkins and tableware will be provided. (Freewill donations will be accepted to help cover the cost.) Each family is asked to bring a covered dish or dessert, their own drinks and lawn chairs. Vonderheide — The descendants of Pete and Rose (Grieve) Vonderheide will meet at 4 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 28, at the Dubois County Park shelterhouse (next to the Dubois County 4-H Fairgrounds).
