Failure-to-yield stop ends in arrest

HUNTINGBURG — A traffic stop late Saturday night resulted in an arrest by the Huntingburg Police Department.

An officer stopped a Buick passenger car in the 900 block of North Main Street at 11:12 p.m. after observing it almost strike another vehicle while exiting a gas station.

During the ensuing investigation, police who detected the odor of alcohol allegedly found that the driver, Dylan T. Mundy, 18, 5237 E. 450S, St. Anthony, had a blood alcohol content of .007 percent. Police also report finding two smoking pipes, marijuana, rolling papers, alcohol and salvia.

Authorities booked Mundy into the Dubois County Security Center at 1:21 a.m. Sunday on preliminary misdemeanor counts of possession of marijuana, possession of salvia, possession of paraphernalia and minor consuming.
