KYANA — A motorist reported her car received damage in a Friday encounter with a tractor along a county road south of Kyana.
Jennifer D. Huff, 25, Birdseye, told the Dubois County Sheriff’s Department the incident involving her 2011 Toyota Camry occurred at 2:40 p.m. Friday on Kyana Road north of County Road 625S.
Huff was reported northbound on Kyana Road when she observed a large tractor that was southbound and over the centerline. Huff said she swerved to avoid striking the tractor and her car went off the east side of the roadway.
The Camry was in the ditchline a short time while clearing the tractor before Huff continued northbound on the roadway.
Once she was home, the sheriff’s department reported, she noticed a puddle of oil on the ground and realized her car had sustained undercarriage damage.
A deputy who viewed the car estimated the damage between $1,000 and $2,500.
