DUFF — A motorist’s evasive action early Sunday led to a property-damage accident northwest of Duff.
Heather L. Durcholz, 40, Ferdinand, was northbound on County Road 800W in a 2010 Nissan Altima when the 2:58 a.m. mishap occurred north of County Road 160S, according to the Dubois County Sheriff’s Office.
Durcholz swerved to miss two deer in the roadway but lost control of her Nissan when its passenger-side wheels went off the pavement.
A deputy said the car sustained more than $1,000 damage when it stopped off the west side of the roadway.
A Sternberg Automotive Group wrecker assisted.
