Erin Marie Shappell and Brandon Stephen Schwoeppe were united in marriage on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, in St. Mary of the Lake Catholic Church in Skaneateles, N.Y. Father Thomas McGrath officiated.
The bride is the daughter of Gary and Roben Shappell of Skaneateles. Stephen and Linda Schwoeppe of Ferdinand are parents of the bridegroom.
Elaine Pohl served as her sister’s matron of honor. Also attending the bride were Sarah Condon, Holly Taylor and Lindsay Coons, friends of the bride.
The bridegroom chose his brother, Benjamin Schwoeppe, as best man. Groomsmen were Andy Fleck, Aaron Sickbert and Phillip Weyer, friends of the bridegroom.
The bride wore a strapless, A-line gown of satin with a wrap waist, laced-up back and a chapel train and adorned with crystal beading, sequins and rhinestones.
The bride’s mother chose a knee-length silk dress with an empire waist, wrap design, cap sleeves, a surplice neckline and an antique Weiss brooch. Mrs. Schwoeppe wore a floor-length gown of black georgette with a sweetheart neckline, ruched bodice and side panels, a rhinestone brooch and a matching bolero with bugle beads and pearls.
The reception was held at Orchard Vali Golf Club in Lafayette, N.Y.
After a honeymoon to Rivera Maya, Mexico, the couple resides in Liverpool, N.Y.
The bride is a 2004 graduate of Skaneateles Central School and a 2007 graduate of the State University of New York College at Cortland. She is a direct mail specialist at the Rescue Mission in Syracuse, N.Y. Mr. Schwoeppe, a 2003 graduate of Forest Park High School, Ferdinand, graduated from Purdue University in 2007. He is a mechanical engineer for Carrier Corp. in Dewitt, N.Y.
