Eldena M. Waggoner, 92, Bloomfield

Eldena M. (Divine) Waggoner, 92, of Bloomfield, formerly of Jasper, passed away at 2:38 a.m. Wednesday, July 17, 2019 at IU Health, Bloomington.

She was born September 15, 1926, in Whitfield (Martin County). She grew up in Whitfield and her parents are the late Dallis Ivol and Norma Mae Divine.

Eldena had various jobs throughout the years. Eldena had worked at Sarkes Tarzian in Bloomington. For seven year she was solder and enjoyed hauling riders with her to work from Whitfield to Bloomington. She also enjoyed her job at the Providence Men’s Home in Jasper. She always had candy for the men and would take them to the doctor appointments. She then worked at Wal-Mart as a greeter. She enjoyed greeting shoppers and giving yellow smiley face stickers to the children.

She enjoyed having yard sales and spending time with her grandchildren, friends and family. She like reading magazines, couponing, finding rebates and shopping. She loved music and going to the Loogootee Opry House.

She attended the Odon Pentecostal Church and previously attended the Alfordsville Christian Church.

Eldena was preceded in death by her sons, Lester Waggoner and Norman (Marsha “Katie”) Waggoner; parents, Dallis Ivol and Norma Mae Divine; brother, Bill Divine.

She is survived by a sister, Lucille Divine of California; daughter, Joyce Arvin; grandchildren, Tammi (David) Flynn of Bloomfield, Shannon (Kenny) Carter of Richmond, and Jeffrey Waggoner (girlfriend, Angie Kleindorfer) of Nashville, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Ashley Campbell, Ryan Campbell, Jerry Flynn, Amber Campbell, Lucas Devor, Wyatt Waggoner and Kacee Kleindorfer; four great-great-grandchildren, Chloe, Victoria, Mason and Amber; niece, Norma Jean (Bill) Pitts of Newberry; nephew, Ted (Teresa) Nicholson of Alfordsville; great-niece, Kim Allen  Ford of Florida;. great nephew, Bill Nicholson of Bloomfield

Funeral services will be conducted at noon Tuesday, July 23, 2019, at Blake Funeral Home in Loogootee. Burial will follow in Truelove United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 23, 2019, from 10 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
