Early voting for the municipal primary election starts today.
Voting will be held on the first floor of the Dubois County Courthouse Annex today through May 6. Voters can cast a ballot at the location between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and from 9 a.m to 6 p.m. on Wednesdays. The location will also be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 27, and Saturday, May 4. The location will not be open on Good Friday, which is April 19.
Early voting will take place from April 27 to May 4 at the 35th Street Fire Station, 118 35th St., Jasper. Voting will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, April 27 and Saturday, May 4.
Voters can also go to the Ferdinand Branch Library, 112 E. 16th St., to cast a ballot from April 29 to May 4. Voting hours will be from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday through Saturday.
The primary election will be on Tuesday, May 7. Since there are no contested primary races for Huntingburg offices, there will not be a voting location in the city.
Any registered voter in Dubois County can choose any early voting location. The voter will need his or her photo identification to cast a ballot.
Contested races in the county include: Republicans Chad Lueken and Merrill Osterman for Jasper Common Council District 3; Republicans Kevin Manley and Ryan Schuetter for Jasper Common Council District 6; and Democrats Steven Pancake and Ron Weyer for Ferdinand Town Council’s at-large.
